Been playing a bit of Halo ODST today and starting thinking about the Beta and feel like sharing my side of the story. Towards the last week of the beta, me and about a hundred people figured out how to get into custom games. We had full control of the 3 maps and all the options and we got more of a taste of the game then anyone else. I decided to start a website for coming track of the players after I heard someone else was doing the same. The next day, I was being accused of coping all the data on his site. I think he was just jealous that more were using mine. We even had live streaming of our games on the website. When the Beta closed, we were all still online. The matchmaking was shutdown but custom games were run by us so we got to keep playing. A few days after that, Bungie and Microsoft built up the nerve to, without any warning whatsoever, force an update that requires the Xbox to reboot which if we clicked yes would cause us to lose access to the beta forever. We left our machines on for a few days hoping someone would find a fix to get us back in the game but after a week or two from the day they cut us off, we finally gave in and rebooted our machines. Some guy named Modsterbation claimed to have halo 3 beta fixed and posted a link to a ftp server but there was nothing there so he probably was full of shit. This was also the asshole that claimed that I duplicated the data on his site. I have many people on my friends lists from the beta clan to prove my innocents so Modsterbation, if you want to screw with me, bring it on. I don’t think many will care about this, but its my side of the story and I feel that I had to get it out of my system. Now I hope it happens again with the Halo Reach Beta cuz if it does, we will fight back with vengeance until the end and never give up. Peace out, talk to you all later.
